Avoid The Top 10 SCHOOL JOB Mistakes

School jobs are becoming more and more popular with students keen to earn some extra money throughout their time at school. Unfortunately, there are many schools looking to take advantage of the situation, offering positions that don't offer the right amount of experience, or worse, don't pay the student at all. This blog looks at the top 10 school job mistakes that schools make and how to avoid them.

Don't try to be everything to everyone

One of the most common mistakes that I see new teachers make is that they try to be everything to everyone, especially at the beginning of their careers. They try to be the perfect teacher, the perfect parent, the perfect student, and the perfect employee to their superiors. The problem with trying to be the perfect teacher and the perfect student is that you are very likely going to end up failing at both. It is impossible to be great at everything. You will be much better off focusing on one thing and being great at that instead of being okay at many things.

Don't spend all your time searching

Everyone knows that the job market is tough and that you should be prepared to work as hard as you can to land your dream job. But what if it’s not your dream job? What if it’s just a job to pay the bills? A lot of people are just looking for an income — and the truth is, it’s OK to just get a job. Yes, you’ll need to find a job that you’re passionate about, but if you can’t find one, it’s OK to grab any old job that will help you get by. You might be a little bored, but it’s better than being broke.

Don't work at a job only because you need a job

It's the dilemma of most students: you have bills, but you don't have a job. It's the classic Catch 22, and it's a tough situation to be in. You can either go without working and deal with the financial burden, or you can take a bad job that forces you to work long hours for little pay. But what if you don't have to choose between these two options? What if you could find a job that allows you to make money, but also lets you study? It's possible to find a job that meets all of these criteria, but it isn't easy. School job opportunities can be hard to come by, so it's important to know what you're looking for before you start applying.

Don't apply to the same job over and over again

Job hunting can be a tricky business. However, it is important to remember that the hiring manager is actively looking for the best person for the job, and this is why it is important to stand out from the crowd. From your cover letter to your job application, there are a number of things that you can do to ensure that you make the cut. However, some of the most common mistakes are often the easiest to avoid. For example, applying for the same job over and over again could be a big mistake for your career.

Don't spend your time working at two or more jobs at once

It's pretty common for students to juggle between different jobs while they're in school. Some people make money working two jobs, while others do so just to pass the time. Whether you do it to make ends meet or just to have something to do, working more than one job at a time can lead to some serious consequences. Staying focused on your schoolwork is one of the most important things when you're in school. But sometimes, it's hard to resist the temptation to work multiple jobs. When you're in school, you're constantly juggling homework, classes, extracurricular activities, and social life. So, you might think working two jobs will help you make money, but it can be a big mistake.

Don't settle for a job you don't love

There are many reasons why students and graduates are unhappy in their jobs. Some are in the wrong job for them, some do not get the kind of support they want or need and some are just not happy because they feel what they do is meaningless or that they are not contributing to the world in a positive way. So how do you avoid these mistakes when looking for a job?

Don't become so obsessed with finding a job that you are negative all the time

You don’t need to be a psychologist to see that a lot of people are unhappy with their jobs. Some of those people are so unhappy that they don’t even want to be at work. This can really affect the quality of their work. They might be late and their work might not even be their best. And it’s not just the quality of their work that suffers, but also that of their colleagues. They can become so negative that they infect the whole team. So, if you don’t want to be one of these negative people, what should you do? One of the best ways to avoid being unhappy at work is to try and keep a positive outlook. Think about all the people who are worse off than you. For example, they don’t have jobs at all, or they are forced to do work they hate. Keep this in mind when you are feeling negative. It’s easy to look on the bright side when things are going well, but a real positive attitude is revealed when things get tough.
